REMEDIES

1. A marking scheme exists but is not well developed as block markings were sighted in some scripts.
2. Practicals conducted but not of good quality.
3. Internal Quality assurance exists but is not functional.
4. Few fire extinguishers were seen.
5.Library holdings are inadequate in number.

 

1. There is a need to improve the marking scheme and block marking should be discouraged.
2. Students need to be exposed to other accounting applications like Sage 500.
3. There is a need for proper documentation of minutes of meetings.
4. There is a need to improve safety in the environment especially more fire extinguishers.
5.There is need to procure more accounting text in the library.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.49%. It scored 25 (71.43%)  in Academic Matters, 33.5 (95.71%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1.5 (50.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
