1. 50% of the academic staff do have Ph.D degree
2. 54 7% of the academic staff and 50% non-teaching staff have not benefit from the staff development programme
3. Library books and journals are inadequate in numbers
4. Funding for the programme is not adequate
5. There is no multidisciplinary approach to research

 

1. University should ensure that all academic sataff are encourageed to obtain the Ph.d degree
2. The University is encourage to ensure that all academic staff benefit from the staff development programme
3. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme
4. funding for the programme should be further improved
5. University should ensure that there is multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration in the programme

 

The total score for the programme is 82.11%. It scored 33 (94.29%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.29%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
