1. The College exceed the 24 credit units which is the maximum stipulated in BMA/CCMAS.
2. The curriculum contains only two innovative courses

3. Non-teaching Staff are not adequate in number for the programme

4. 56% of the academic have not benefited from staff development programme
5. None of the non-teaching staff have benefitted from staff development programme
6. Integrated Science laboratory is not adequately equipped with nature corner, shapes and angle representation,
7. Some classrooms are not adequately equipped with podiums and public address system.
8. There are no white boards , day blinds and bookshelves in some academic staff offices,
9. Physical books are not very current for the programme
10. Journals are not adequate in number for the programme
11. The programme subscribed to one active database EBSCOHOST
12. Slow internet connectivity impedes access to e-books and journals by students and staff of the programme.
13. Funding for the programme is inadequate

 

1. The College should ensure that 24 units which is the maximum is not exceeded.

2. The College should ensure that the curriculum is enriched with at least four innovative courses without exceeding maximum credit load
3. The College should recruit more laboratory technicians and administrative staff for the programme
4. The College should ensure that all the academic staff benefitted from staff development programme
5. The College should ensure that all the non-teaching staff benefitted from staff development programme
6. The College should provide well equipped Integrated Science laboratory for the programme
7. The College should provide a well-equipped classroom for the programme

8. The College should provide adequately furnished staff offices for the programme
9. The College should procure more current books for the programme
10. The college should procure more international and national journals
11. The College should subscribed to at least two active databases
12. The College should ensure active internet connectivity for the programme .

13. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 74.21%. It scored 27.5 (83.33%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (80.00%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
