1. The College exceed the 24 credit units in 200 and 300 levels which is the maximum stipulated in BMA/CCMAS.
2. Non-teaching Staff are not adequate in number for the programme

3. None of the academic staff is from the parent University

4. None of the academic and non-teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme

5. Staff mix by rank of 19:48:33 does not meet the NUC approved guidelines in two categories.
6. Mathematic laboratory is not adequately equipped with both adequate hardware and software equipments
7. Some classrooms are not adequately equipped with podiums and public address system.
8. There no white boards , day blinds and bookshelves in some academic staff offices,
9. Physical books and journals are not adequate in number and currency for the programme
10. The programme subscribed to one active database EBSCOHOST

 

1. The College should adhere to the NUC BMAS/CCMAS

2. The College should recruit more laboratory technicians and administrative staff for the programme
3. The College should ensure that at least 25% of the academic staff should come from the parent University
4. The College should ensure that all the academic and non-teaching staff benefitted from staff development programme
5. The College should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 in line with the NUC approved guidelines.
6. The Mathematics laboratory should be adequately equipped with adequate hardware and software equipments
7. The College should provide a well-equipped classroom for the programme
8. The College should provide adequately furnished staff offices for the programme
9. Adequate and current physical books and journals should be procured by the college for the programme
10. The College should subscribed to at least two active databases

 

The total score for the programme is 63.49%. It scored 26 (78.79%)  in Academic Matters, 24 (60.00%) in Staffing, 18 (66.67%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
