1. Physics I and II that is a compulsory course in the BMAS was listed as elective
2. The College exceed the 24 credit units which is the maximum stipulated in BMA/CCMAS.
3. None of the academic staff is from the parent University

4. Non-teaching Staff are not adequate in number for the programme

5. 84% of the academic have not benefited from staff development programme
6. None of the non-teaching staff have benefitted from staff development programme
7. Some classrooms are not adequately equipped with podiums and public address system.
8. There are no white boards , day blinds and bookshelves in some academic staff offices,
9. The programme subscribed to one active database EBSCOHOST
10. Slow internet connectivity impedes access to e-books and journals by students and staff of the programme.
11. Funding for the programme is inadequate

 

1. The College should adhere to the NUC BMAS/CCMAS guidelines
2. The College should ensure that 24 units which is the maximum is not exceeded.

3. The College should ensure that at least 25% of the academic staff should come from the parent University
4. The College should recruit more laboratory technicians and administrative staff for the programme
5. The College should ensure that all the academic staff benefitted from staff development programme
6. The College should ensure that all the non-teaching staff benefitted from staff development programme
7. The College should provide a well-equipped classroom for the programme
8. The College should provide adequately furnished staff offices for the programme
9. The College should subscribed to at least two active databases
10. The College should ensure active internet connectivity for the programme .

11. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 71.03%. It scored 27.5 (83.33%)  in Academic Matters, 24 (60.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
