1. 48.8% of the academic staff do nothave the Ph.D degree
2. 54.6% of the academic staff and 63.7% of non-teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme in the last three years
3. Library books and journals are inadequate in number
4. Funding for the programme is inadequate
5. There is no multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration

 

1. University should ensure that all academic staff are encourage to obtain the Ph.D degree
2. The University should ensure that all academic and non-teaching staff beneft from staff development programme
3. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme
4. The programme should be adequately funded
5. The University should ensure that there is a multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration in the progrramme

 

The total score for the programme is 82.11%. It scored 33 (94.29%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.29%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
