REMEDIES

1. The curriculum is not fully adequate as ECN 303 Introduction to Econometrics in the NUC BMAS is missing.
2. No core innovative courses was introduced.
3. Only 50% – 59% of the teaching staff have benefited from the staff development in the past 3 years.
4. Only one of the four non-teaching staff benefited from the staff development.
5.The staff offices are inadequate in space and not well equipped.
6.The funding for the program is fairly adequate.

 

1. The curriculum of the program should be adequate in line with the NUC BMAS.

2.The University should include innovative courses in the curriculum as stipulated in the BMAS.
3. At least 70% of the teaching staff should have benefited from the staff development in the past three years.
4. The University should improve upon it staff development for the non-teaching staff.
5. The University should create adequate staff offices and equipments.
6.There is need for improvement in terms of the recurrent and capital expenditure.

 

The total score for the programme is 76.92%. It scored 27 (72.97%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (85.00%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 12 (66.67%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
