1. The total credit load exceeds the NUC stipulated credit load for the programme
2. Some of the examination questions do not adequately cover the curriculum
3. Less than 50% of the academic staff are core to the programme
4. Some of the laboratory equipment are not engraved
5. The physical holdings are in adequate in number and currency
6. Funding is inadequate for the programme

 

1. The University should ensure that credit load stipulated by the NUC guideline is adhered to for the programme
2. The University should ensure that test and examination questions cover the curriculum
3. The University should ensure that all academic staff are core to the programme
4. The University should ensure that all laboratory equipment are engraved
5. The University should ensure that adequate library books are procured for the programme
6. The University should ensure that the programme is adequately funded

 

The total score for the programme is 70.59%. It scored 24 (72.73%)  in Academic Matters, 25 (71.43%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
