REMEDIES

1. Inadequate farm facilities/animals for practical work to cover all practical training needed by the students.

2. Sampled students demonstrated a fair level of soft skills relevant to the programme.

3. 50% of the Academic staff have benefited from staff development, and all non-academic staff have not benefited from the staff development programme.

4. The school farm is poorly organized and in a state of repair.

5. Environmental sanitation in terms of functional toilet facilities need improvement.

6. The library holdings are of good quality, relevant and cover the curriculum.

7. The funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that adequate facilities/animals are procured for practical for all students.

2. More skills are needed to be demonstrated by the academic staff to the students.

3. All staff should be encouraged to benefit from the staff development programme.

4. The University should ensure that the school farm is well organized and maintained.

5. The University should ensure that all toilet facilities are functional.

6. The University should ensure that the library holdings have at least three copies of relevant texts and journals covering the relevant areas of the programme.

7. The University should ensure very adequate funding for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.62%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (85.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library, in academic matters, staffing, physical facilities and library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
