REMEDIES

1. The Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) system is not effective as meetings are not adequately documented.

2. 72.7% of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from Staff Development Programme in the past three years.

3. The white boards in the studios are not well maintained.

4. The studios are poorly illuminated with wires in the bulb sockets exposed.

5. The academic staff offices are not adequately equipped with good chairs and tables, air conditioners, refrigerators, file cabinets and book shelves. They are also poorly illuminated.

6. There are no adequate toilet facilities within the faculty building for students. The only available facility located close the building for the students require payment for its services.

 

1. The University should ensure adequate documentation of meetings and other decision-making documents.

2. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

3. All white boards in the studios should be adequately maintained.

4. The University should ensure that the studios are well illuminated and electrical wires appropriately fixed to ensure safety.

5. The University should provide well illuminated and equipped offices for the academic staff on the programme.

6. The University should ensure that adequate toilet facilities which can be freely accessed by the students are provided.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.40%. It scored 32.5 (87.84%)  in Academic Matters, 33.0 (94.00%) in Staffing, 20.0 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 18.0 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2.0 (66.67%) in Funding, 3.0 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2.0 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
