1. The curriculum contains only three additional/innovative courses.

2. Students’ practical reports on interpretation of data collected from the fields are inconclusive.

3. All the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from Staff Development Programme in the past three years.

4. Basic software and laboratory equipment such as Petrel and magnetometer respectively are not available.

5. The academic staff offices are not adequately equipped with bookshelves, refrigerators and file cabinets.

6. The internet connectivity is slow and impedes access to e-books and e-journals.

7. There is no evidence of research and collaborations in the programme.

8. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure the inclusion of four or more additional/innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load across all the levels of study.

2. The University should ensure that students are adequately trained and guided on practicals in the programme.

3. The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

4. The University should ensure that basic software required for the programme are installed in the computers. All basic laboratory equipment should also be provided.

5. The University should ensure that all academic staff offices are adequately equipped.

6. The University should ensure increase in internet bandwidth to enhance access to e-library resources.

7. The University should ensure robust research and collaboration in the programme.

8. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 86.09%. It scored 24 (88.89%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
