1. PHY 101,112, 152 courses were omitted from the curriculum.

2. There is no external examiners system for the program

3. 22% of teaching staff for the programe are from the parent university.

4. Techonlogies for the programe are inadequate in number.

5. 45.5% of the academic staff do not benefit from staff development programme within the last three years.

6. Non of the non-teaching staff has benefited from staff development programme within the last 3 years.
7. Academic staff offices are ill-equipped.

8. There are inadequate physical text and journal for science education in the library.
9. there is no multidisciplinary research and collaboration

 

1. The university should ensure that the curriculum for the program is fully covered.
2. The university should ensure that an external examiners system exist for the program.
3. The university should ensure 25% or more of the teaching staff for the programe are from the parent university.
4. The university should ensure that adequate number of technologies are provided for the programme.
5. The University should ensure 70% or more of the academic staff benefit from staff development program.
6. The University should ensure 70% or more of the non-teaching staff benefits from staff development program
7. The University should ensure that the aademic staff offices are well equipped.
8. Science education text and journals should be provided fro the program
9. The program should engage in multidescplinary approach of research

 

The total score for the programme is 78.85%. It scored 31.5 (85.14%)  in Academic Matters, 31.5 (78.75%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 15.5 (86.11%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 1 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library, in academic matters, staffing, physical facilities and library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
