REMEDIES

1. The students’ projects are not well supervised as there is no uniformity in the structure.
2. Practical conducted did not cover the curriculum and there is no feed mills and some animals for conducting the practical in the laboratory.
3. 30.8% of the academic staff do not have PhD degree.
4. Non of the non teaching staff benefited from the staff development programmes.
5. The laboratory lacks boom sprayer and seed planter, slasher, feed mills and farm shed for field work.
6. Some class room furniture are not well maintained. Some window louvers and seats were broken.
7. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space and not well furnished/equipped with bookshelves, file cabinets, Refrigerators, photocopiers and scanners.
8. The sanitation around the teaching areas is poor. There was no running water in some buildings.
Inernet connectivity is slow and impede access to e-resource for staff and students.

 

1. Degree projects should be properly supervised.
2. The college should ensure that practical conducted covers the curriculum by providing all practical items in the laboratory.
3. The college should encourage all academic staff to obtain PhD degree.
4. The college should ensure that all staff benefit from staff development programmes.
5. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programmes in line with the BMAS.
6. Furniture items in the classrooms should be well maintained.
7. Adequate number of well-furnished offices should be provided for the academic staff on the programme.
8. The sanitation the teaching areas should be improved upon.
9. The college should ensure that Internet connectivity is improved upon.

 

The total score for the programme is 79.69%. It scored 31.3 (84.59%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (85.00%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 13.3 (73.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library, in academic matters, staffing, physical facilities and library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
