REMEDIES

1. Practical conducted is being impede by poor power supply to laboratory.
2. The hard and soft skills relevant to the programme acquired by the students in the area of use of software skills in computer application is inadequate.
3. Staff mix by rank of 20.8:29.2:50.0 meets the NUC BMAS in only one category.
4. 40% of the academic staff do not have PhD degree.
5. 33.3% of the Academic staff and all of the non academic staff have not benefited from the staff development programmes.
6. The following equipment were not available in the laboratory: Unshielded twisted pair(CAT6), Cable strippers, Air blower and MATH LAB Software.
7. Class room furniture are well maintained, some window louver were broken.
8. Office accommodation is inadequate in space and not well furnished with book shelve and file cabinets.
9. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number.
10. Internet connectivity is slow and impede access to EResource by staff and students.

 

1. The college should provide alternative source of power supply to ensure that practical are adequately conducted.
2. The college should introduce the student to relevant hard and soft skills.
3. The college should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45.
4. The college should encourage all academic staff to obtain PhD degree.
5. The college should ensure that all staff benefit from staff development programmes.
6. The college should provide all essential laboratory equipment for the programme.
7. Class room should be well maintained.
8. Standard academic staff offices should be provided.
9. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.
10. The college should ensure that Internet connectivity is improved upon.

 

The total score for the programme is 79.23%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (80.00%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library, in academic matters, staffing, physical facilities and library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
