1. The curriculum contains less than four innovative courses
2. The curriculum exceeded the maximum credit load of 24 units in
100L and 200L.
3. Practical works are not adequately covered.
4. 27.3% of the academic staff do not have a Ph.D degree.
5. 36.4% of the academic staff have not benefitted from the Staff
Development Programme
6. The programme does not have adequate technologist and non-
academic staff
7. Staff offices are inadequate in space and not furnished with modern
office equipment.
8. Slow internet connectivity impedes access to e- books and journals
by students and staff of the programme.
9. The environmental sanitation is poor
10. Research and collaboration not adequately covered.
11. Funding is inadequate for the Programme

 

1. The University should ensure that the curriculum is enriched by the
addition of at least four innovative courses in line with the
CCMAS/BMAS.
2. The curriculum should ensure that the credit load across all levels of
study is in line with the NUC regulations.
3. The University should ensure that practical work covers the
valuation, market survey and Urban analysis areas of the
programme.
4. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain Ph.D degree.
5 The University should ensure that all academic staff benefits from
the Staff Development Programme.
6 The University should ensure engage qualified technologist and
non-academic staff for the programme.
7 Standard, spacious and well-equipped offices should be provided
for the programme.
8 The University should upgrade the internet facilities for ease of
access.
9 The University should ensure that environmental sanitation is
improved upon.
10 The university should ensure that there is a multi-disciplinary
approach to research in the programme.
11 The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 82%. It scored 37 (77%)  in Academic Matters, 35.0 (91%) in Staffing, 27 (78%) in Physical Facilities, 18.0 (89%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (67%) in Funding, 3 (33.3%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
