REMEDIES

1. Only 56% of the academic staff have benefitted from staff Development.
2. No non-teaching staff benefitted from staff Development in the last 3 years.
3. There are no charts in the laboratory.
4. Most of the classes have poorly maintained chairs, poor lighting and no projectors
5. Staff Mix by ranks of 36:40:24 is not in alignment with the BMAS

 

1. All teaching staff should be encouraged to benefit from staff Development.
2. All the non teaching staff should be encouraged to benefit from staff Development.
3. The Institution should provide charts in the laboratory for the programme.
4. The Institution should provide good furniture, lighting and projectors in all the classrooms.
5. The Institution should ensure a staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 is maintained for the programme in line with the BMAS

 

The total score for the programme is 80.25%. It scored 36 (97.30%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (72.50%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2.33 (77.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library, in academic matters, staffing, physical facilities and library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
