1. Practical conducted does not cover the curriculum.

2. 66.7% of academic staff has Ph.D degrees.
3. Non-academic staff are inadequate in number

4. Only 50% of the academic staff and none of the non-academic staff have benefitted from the Staff Development Programme.

5. Academic staff offices are not furnished.

6. Only one subscription to e-resources was made at the e-library section.
7. Campus Hotspot is slow and only available in few areas of the campus.

8. There is no evidence of multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration.

 

1. The University should ensure that practical conducted covers the curriculum and make available laboratory guide for the programme’s practical work
2. All academic staff should have a Ph.D degree.
3. The university should ensure that required non-academic staff is available for the running of the programme.
4. The University should ensure that all academic and non-academic staff benefitted from the Staff Development Programme.

5. Well-furnished offices should be provided for the academic staff of the programme

6. The university should ensure that active subscriptions to at least two relevant databases were made to e-library resources.
7. Internet connectivity should be improved upon by increasing the internet bandwidth to cover all academic buildings within the university.
8. The university should ensure that there is a multidisciplinary approach to research and collaboration in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 79.83%. It scored 30 (90.91%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (74.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
