1. Innovative courses were not included in the Curriculum.
2. Internal quality assurance system does not exit.
3. The percentage of staff from parent University is 22%.
4. 33% of academic staff benefited from Staff development programme.
5. The non teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme.
6. The classroom equipment are not well maintained.
7. Sand buckets and fire extinguishers were not adequate in number.
8. Books and journals are not adequate in number.
9. E- Library does not have subscription to any relevant database.
10. Funding for the programme is not adequate.
11. There is no evidence of research and collaborations.
12. Tracer system is not in place at the college.

 

1. The parent institution should provide the college with the curriculum of the programme.
2. Parent University should engage the college on quality assurance system through regular supervision.
3. The college should comply with 25% of staff fro parent University.
4. The college should improve on staff development programme for academic staff.
5. The college should put in place a proper maintenance culture of the physical facilities.
6. More safety equipment should be procured by the college.
7. The college should procure more current books and journals for the programme at the library.
8. The college should subscribe to relevant databases for the programme.
9. More fund should be made available for the programme.
10. The staff of the programme should engage in research and Collaborations with another institutions.
11. Tracers system of graduates of the college should be put place.

 

The total score for the programme is 67.54%. It scored 25 (78.13%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (77.50%) in Staffing, 11 (68.75%) in Physical Facilities, 9 (50.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
