1. The curriculum is not adequately covered without innovative courses.
2. Internal quality assurance system does not exist with little supervision from parent institution.
3. Staff mix by rank of 14:38:47 does not meet NUC guidelines in professorial and senior lecturer categories.
4. The department is headed by a Lecturer I.
5. Non Academic Staff is inadequate in number for the Programme.
6. Staff Development Programme for academic staff is 30%
Staff Development Programme for Non academic staff does not exit.
7. The econometric lab is not adequate in space.
8. Fire extinguisher and sand buckets are not adequate in number.
9. Library Holdings is not adequate in quantities of textbooks and currency of the journals.
10. E-library have access to only to open source materials.
11. Research and Collaboration does not exit at the department.
12. Tracer system is not in place in the department.
13. Funding is not adequate for the programme.

1. The parent institution should comply with the provision of CCMAS to reflect in the curriculum of the college.
2. Parent University should engage the college on quality assurance system through regular supervision.
3. The college should comply with the staff mix by rank for the programme.
4. Senior Lecturer or above should be appointed as the Head of the department.
5. The college should employ more technical and administrative staff for the programme.
6. The college should improve on staff development for the academic and non academic staff.
7.The college should make available a spacious econometric lab with required equipment.
8. The college should make provision for more safety equipment.
9. More books and current journals should be procure for the programme at the library.
10. The college should make subscription for e-resources databases that’s relevant to the programme.
11. Research and collaboration should be encouraged among the staff of the department.
12. Trace system should be made available in the department.
13. The college should improve on funding of the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 61.60%. It scored 23 (71.88%)  in Academic Matters, 26 (65.00%) in Staffing, 18 (66.67%) in Physical Facilities, 9 (50.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
