REMEDIES

1. The Curriculum is not fully adequate for the degree programme
as a few core courses are omitted in some levels of study such
as: (a.) Statistical Computing at all levels, (b.) Distribution
Theories I & II are merged.

2. Only one innovative course was observed added in the
Curriculum.

3. Practicals conducted are not of good quality as there is no evidence
of manual workbooks assessment.

4. The non-teaching staff of the Department have not benefited from
the Staff Development programme.

5. Library Holdings are inadequate in number and coverage.

6. Funding of the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the Curriculum is fully adequate
and merged courses should be separated.

2. The University should add 4 or more innovative courses in the
Curriculum.

3. Practicals conducted should be of good quality and adequate for
the skills.

4. The University should ensure that the non-teaching staff of the
Department benefit from the Staff Development programme.

5. Library Holdings should be adequate in number and coverage.

6. The University should ensure that Funding of the programme is
adequate.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.20%. It scored 27 (72.97%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (89%) in Staffing, 26 (96.30%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
