REMEDIES

1- The proportion of teaching staff core to the program provides for only 60%.
2- 40% of the the academic staff have not benefited from staff development program.
3- Laboratory space is inadequate.
4- The forensic laboratory does not have the following essential equipment photocopier and scanner, there is also no water supply.
5- Academic staff offices for senior staff is inadequate in space.
6- The classrooms are un-kept and walls are defaced.
7- Physical library books and journals are inadequate in currency.
8- Funding for the program is inadequate.
9- There is no evidence of research and collaboration by students with institutions within and outside the country.

 

1- The university should ensure that the proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area provides for 75%.
2- The university should ensure that all academic staff benefit from staff development program.
3- A standard spacious laboratory should be provided for the program.
4- All essential laboratory equipment should be provided and water should be made available for the program.
5- Adequate number of well-furnished offices should be provided for the senior academic staff of the program.
6- Classrooms and classrooms walls should be kept tidy and clean.
7- More current books and journals should be procured for the program.
8- The program should be adequately funded.
9- The university should ensure that there is research and collaboration by students with institution within and outside the country.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.03%. It scored 33 (96.96%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (82.9%) in Staffing, 27 (77.8%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (88.9%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (33.3%) in Funding, 3 (33.33%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
