REMEDIES

1. The curriculum is deficient are some compulsory courses were omitted. These are Special Education, Computer Programming, Special Methods and Statistics for Biology Sciences.

2. The curriculum is substantially cover.

3. The test and examination are of good standard but do not cover the curriculum.

4. Practical work conducted did not cover the curriculum.

5. The internal quality assurance mechanism is not effective.

6. 37% of academic staff and none of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from staff development programme.

7. Laboratory equipment are of good quality and quantity but some of the equipment are not properly inscribed with the institution name.

8. Classroom equipment and furniture are not well maintained.

9. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The curriculum should be revised to include Special Education, Computer Programming, Special Methods and Statistics for Biology

2. The College should ensure that the curriculum is adequately covered.

3. The College should ensure that test and examination adequately cover the curriculum.

4. The College should ensure that practical work adequately cover the curriculum.

5. The College should ensure that the internal quality mechanism is effective to impact on the programme.

6. The College should ensure that all academic staff and non-teaching staff benefit from staff development programme.

7. All laboratory equipment should be inscribe with the institution name properly for the programme.

8. Equipment and classroom furniture should be well maintained.

9. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.16%. It scored 24 (72.73%)  in Academic Matters, 36 (90.00%) in Staffing, 20 (74.07%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library, in academic matters, staffing, physical facilities and library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
