1. The staff mix by rank within the programme does not align with NUC guidelines in two specific categories.

2. 40% of the academic staff have not benefitted from the Staff Development programme

3. Laboratory equipment for the programme is available; however, in 70% of it is insufficient in quantity.

4. Funding of the programme is inadequate.
5. There is evidence of research collaboration. However, there is no multidisciplinary approach is engaged

 

1. The staff mix by rank should align fully with the categories prescribed by the NUC BMAS guidelines

2. The University is encouraged to ensure that all academic staff benefit from the Staff Development programme.

3. The University should endeavour to provide adequate llaboratory equipment for the programme.

4. The programme should be adequately funded.

5. The University should ensure a multidisciplinary approach to research in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 94.40%. It scored 37 (100.00%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
