1. External Examiners were used but their reports were scanty
2. No internal quality assurance system exists in the department.
3. Not up to 70% of Academic staff have benefited from staff development training.
4. Staff accommodation were slightly inadequate in space.
5. The physical library needs more current books and journals on the programme.
6. The E-Library should subscribe to more active databases.
7. The Department has no sign of research and collaboration systems

 

1. The Department should ensure that external examiners write detailed reports.
2. The department should setup an internal quality assurance system and keep records of minutes and decision making documents.
3. The department should ensure that more academic staff benefit from staff development training.
4. The University should provide adequate staff offices.
5. The University should procure current books and journals on the programme.
6. The University should provide funding for subscriptions to more E-Library databases.
7. The Department should encourage tracer and collaboration systems.

 

The total score for the programme is 78.64%. It scored 20 (76.92%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 13 (81.25%) in Physical Facilities, 13 (72.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
