1. The course content is fairly adequate as students confirmed that lecture rooms are shared and sometimes classes.
2. Skill acquisition needs to be improved in terms of the level of hard and soft skills.
3. The Staff mix of 55:025:20 is top-heavy, and the department needs more senior and junior lecturers.
4. The department needs more non-teaching staff.
5. The Staff development does not cover at least 70% of the academic staff of the department
6. Staff development does not cover at least 70% of the department’s non-academic staff.

 

1. The University should provide adequate lecture rooms, and the department should schedule courses appropriately to avoid clashes.
2. Skill acquisition could be improved by giving students more opportunities for practical application.
3. The University should employ more senior lecturers and Junior lecturers to fill up the lower cadre and be mentored by the Professors.
4. The University should employ more non-teaching staff.
5. The Department should ensure staff development covers at least 70% of academic staff.
6. The Department should ensure staff development covers at least 70% of non-academic staff.

 

The total score for the programme is 89.91%. It scored 30 (93.75%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 13 (81.25%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
