DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. Some degree projects have wrong arrangement of information as seen in the placement of full analysis of music scores in Chapter 4 instead of the Appendix.
2. 47% of the academic staff and all non-academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development Programme in the past three years;
3. Interaction with students shows that the practical sessions are usually interrupted or suddenly ended due to the negative impact of the noise produced.
4. There are no dedicated toilet facilities for Professors of the programme;
5. Foreign physical library journals are inadequate in number;
6. Access to e-library resources is limited to the University Library;
7. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

1. The University should ensure that all degree projects are of good quality and well supervised. Only a small section of the music score should be analysed in Chapter 4 and the rest appropriately placed in the Appendix.
2. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.

3. The University should provide sound proofs for the classrooms. In addition, the university is encouraged to urgently complete the building dedicated to the music programme in order to ensure that practicals are adequately conducted without interference.
4. The University should ensure that Professors are provided with en-suite offices.
5. The University should procure more foreign journals for the programme;
6. The University should provide Wi-Fi access points in other academic buidings to enhance access to e-resources;
7. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 89.20%. It scored 35.5 (95.95%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
