REMEDIES

1. The Curriculum is not fully adequate for the degree programme as a
few core courses are omitted in some levels of study as prescribed
by the BMAS such as: Distribution Theories I & II, Laboratory works
in design, Survey and Regression.

2. Practical works are not conducted.

3. The course content, learning materials, course delivery, physical
facilities are fairly adequate.

4. Internal Quality Assurance system does not exist.

5. Non-teaching staff have not benefited from the Staff
Development programme.

6. Office accommodation is inadequate in space.

7. Library holdings are inadequate in number and coverage.

8. Funding is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that the Curriculum is not fully
adequate for the degree programme.

2. Practical works should be conducted with evidence of manuals.

3. The course content, learning materials, course delivery, physical
facilities should be fully adequate in line with the BMAS.

4. The University should ensure that Internal Quality Assurance
system is put in place.

5. The University should ensure that non-teaching staff benefit from
the Staff Development programme.

6. The University should ensure that Office accommodation is
adequate in space.

7. The University should ensure that the Library holdings are
adequate in number and coverage.

8. The University should ensure that Funding is adequate for the
programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 76.80%. It scored 22 (59.46%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (89.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
