REMEDIES

1. External examiner has stay for more than 2 years.
2. The non teaching staff are inadequate in number.
3. 33.3% of academic Staff have not benefited from Staff Development Programme.
4. 33.3% of academic staff do not have Ph.D degree.
5. The professorial offices are inadequate in space and no sufficient toilets for senior lectures.
6. Television and public address system is not available in the class room.
7. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and coverage.
8. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. External Examiner should be engage for 2years and renewable for 1 year as stipulated in the curriculum.
2. The University should employ more non teaching Staff for the
department.
3. The University should ensure that all academic Staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.
4. All academic staff should be encourage to obtain Ph.D degree.
5. The University should ensure that professorial office are spacious and sufficient toilet should be allocated to the senior lectures.
6. The Unversity should ensure that all essential equipment are provided for the programme.
7. The University should ensure that physical books and journals are adequate in number and coverage.
8. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 81.25%. It scored 26 (81.25%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1.5 (50.00%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
