REMEDIES

1. The internal quality system exists but there is no evidence of regular meetings.

2. 79.0% of the academic staff and 86.0% of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from the Staff Development Programme.

3. Furniture in the classrooms and lecture theaters are dilapidated. Some of the projectors, light bulbs and ceiling fans are not functional.

4. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.

5. Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The University should ensure that the internal quality assurance system is effective and the meetings are regular.

2. The University should ensure that all academic staff and non-teaching staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme.

3. Furniture items in classrooms and lecture theaters should be well maintained. Functional projectors, light bulbs and ceiling fans should be installed.

4. Standard (spacious) offices should be provided for the programme.

5. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 85.60%. It scored 34 (91.89%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
