DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. The programme has only (3) innovative courses, which is less than the minimum of (4) recommended by NUC.
2. Only 61.5% of the staff are core to the programme, which is less than the 75% recommended by NUC.
3. Only 65% of the staff have a Ph.D., which is less than the 70% recommended by NUC.
4. Only 60% of the non-teaching staff have benefited from staff development, which is less than the 70% recommended by NUC.
5. Office equipment were adequate in space but inadequately equipped.

 

1. The Department should include more innovative courses in their curriculum.
2. The University should employ more staff core to the subject area of nursing.
3. The department should encourage more staff to complete their Ph.D programmes.
4. The department should ensure more non-academic staff benefit from staff development.
5. The University should procure more furniture for office spaces.

 

The total score for the programme is 91.06%. It scored 34 (97.14%)  in Academic Matters, 30 (85.71%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
