REMEDIES

1. 60% of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from Staff Development Programme.
2. Some of the staff offices are inadequate in space and not well furnished with file cabinets and bookshelves.
3. The slow internet connectivity impedes access to e-books and journals by students and staff of the programme.
4. Funding is inadequate for the programme.
5. There is no multidisciplinary approach to research.

 

1. The University should ensure that all non-academic staff benefit from Staff Development Programme.
2. Standard and well furnished staff offices should be provided for the academic staff of the programme.
3. The University should ensure that internet connectivity is improved upon.
4. The programme should be adequately funded.
5. The University should ensure that there is a multidisciplinary approach to research in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.83%. It scored 31 (96.88%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 13 (81.25%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
