REMEDIES

1. Bloc marking was observed.

2. Practicals conducted do not adequately cover the curriculum as there is
no shop/mini mart for the programme.

3. Internal quality assurance mechanism is not effective.

4. The departmennt is headed by a lecturer 1.

5. 42% of the academic and none of the academic staff hv benefited from
staff development programme.

6. The E-laboratory does not have scanners and analytical software such as
SPSS and Amos.

7. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.

8. Physical library journals are localized, books and journals are inadequate
in currency.

 

1. Bloc marking should be discouraged.

2. The University should ensure practicals adequately cover the curriculum.

3. The University should ensure the internal quality mechanism is effective.

4. The University should ensure the department is headed by a qualifies
academic staff not less than a senior lecturer.

5. The University should ensure ensure all academic and non academic
staff benefit from the staff development programme of the University.

6. Standard and well equiped laboratory should be provided for the
programm.

7. Standard and well furnished academic staff offices should be provided
for the programme.

8. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 80.00%. It scored 30 (81.08%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 21 (77.78%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
