DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1. Mark allotted to examination scripts are not consistent with the
marking scheme.

2. 37.5% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D degree.

3. Smart Television and security protective jackets are not available in
the laboratory.

4. Academic staff offices are not well equipped and furnished with
television and bookshelves respectively.

5. Physical library books are in adequate in number and coverage in the
area of penology, Victimology, Crime prevention, Juvenile delinquency
cyber crime forensic science.

6. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should ensure that marking scheme is judiciously followed
in distribution of marks to examination scripts.

2. The University should encouraged all staff to obtained their Ph.D degree.

3. All basic laboratory equipment should be provided for the
programme.

4. The University should ensure that a well equipped academic staff
offices are provided for the programme.

5. More books should be procured for the programme.

6. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 90.35%. It scored 27 (96.43%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.00%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
