1. The curriculum is not adequate for the programme such as, heritage studies and introductory course in archeology

2. Staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 were not in line with the NUC requirements

3. The department has only one non teaching staff which is considered to be inadequate

4. The history resource room-(visual lab) is not adequately equipped

5. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The University should add heritage and introductory course in archeology for the programme

2. The University should ensure that staff mix by rank are in line with the NUC guidelines

3. The University should ensure that more non teaching staff be added to the programme

4. There is urgent need for the university to equip the resource room for the department

5. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 93.3%. It scored 32 (100%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (91%) in Staffing, 27 (85.1%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (66.6%) in Funding, 3 (100%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
