1. Practicals conducted do not adequately cover the curriculum. There is no evidence of practical work (Samples, Designs, Logbooks and Manuals) conducted in Carpentry, Service and Soil which are necessary for the programme. 2. Students Course evaluation reveals Learning Materials, Course delivery and physical facilities are fairly adequate. 3. Students demonstrated average level of hard and soft skills relevant to the programme. 4. Internal Quality Assurance system is not effective as there is no evidence of meetings. 5. The proportion of staff core to the subject area provides for only 64% of the teaching staff need. 6. Academic staff mix by rank of 7. 55% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D degree. 8. The Department is run by an inexperienced academic (Lecturer II) and generally ineffective and inefficient. 9. 71.4% the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from the staff Development programme in the last three years. 10. Laboratory and workshop spaces are inadequate, Carpentry Workshop and soil Laboratory are not available. 11. Essential Equipment such as: Bench vice, diesing machine, brick molding machine, soil testing instruments, Universal Testing Machine, survey instruments, pipe wrench, wood lathe and accessories, cutting swing machine, cramps, drilling tools, saws, vices among other equipment needed in a standard Carpentry, Services, Soil and Concrete Workshops are not available for the programme. 12. Classrooms and there furniture are not well maintained. The roof ceilings and chairs require maintenance. 13. Academic staff offices are inadequate in number, space and not furnished with bookshelves, file cabinet and white boards. 14. Safety and environmental Sanitation around the teaching area are poor. The environment is bushy and the available fire extinguishers are all expired. 15. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and coverage. 16. Physical library holdings not current for Journals. 17. Poor internet connectivity in the library and on the campus impedes access to e-books and journals. 18. Funding for the programme is inadequate. 19. There is no evidence of research and collaboration in the programme.

1. The University should ensure that practical work adequately cover the curriculum and are well documented in log books and manuals. 2. The University should ensure that Learning Materials, Course delivery and physical facilities for the programme are adequate 3. The University should ensure that students acquire the required hard and soft skills relevant to the programme 4. The University should ensure that the Internal Quality Assurance Unit is effective to impact on the programme and minutes of meetings adequately documented. 5. The University should ensure that the proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area provides for 75% or more of the teaching staff need. 6. The University should ensure the staff mix by rank of 20:35:45 in line with the NUC guidelines. 7. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain Ph.D degree. 8. The Department should be headed by a qualified academic not below the rank of a Senior lecturer. 9. The University is encouraged to ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from the staff Development Programme. 10. Standard laboratories should be provided for the programme. 11. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme. 12. The University should ensure that all classrooms and there furniture are well maintained. 13. Adequate number of well-furnished offices should be provided for academic staff of the programme. 14. The University should ensure safety of and environmental sanitation of the teaching area for the programme 15. More relevant books and journals should be procured for the programme 16. Current relevant journals should be procured for the programme 17. The University should improve on the internet connectivity in the Library and on the campus. 18. The university should improve on funding of the programme. 19. The University should ensure that academic staff engage in research and collaboration that are multidisciplinary.

The total score for the programme is 55.46%. It scored 23 (69.70%) in Academic Matters, 19 (54%) in Staffing, 12 (44.44%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the total score of less than 60%, the Panel recommended DENIED accreditation status for the Programme.
