REMEDIES

1. There was only one innovative course in the curriculum: NSC 521- Seminar on Contemporary issues in Nursing.
2. The standard of tests and examinations did not cover the curriculum.
3. Marking schemes exit but they are not well developed.
4. The practical works did not cover the curriculum.
5. The staff mix by rank is only consistent in one category 19.4:30.6:30.0 respectively.
6. 63.6% of academic staff have not benefitted from staff development programme.
7. 50% of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from staff development programme.
8. The laboratory equipment meets only 65% of NUC’s BMAS. There is no community/public health lab and simulators to enhance more evidence-based teachings.
9 The classroom equipment is slightly inadequate as there are no public address systems and internet connectivity.
10. Academic staff offices are inadequate in space.
11. The physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and currency.

1. The university should ensure that minimum of four innovative courses are included in the curriculum.
2. The tests and examinations should be of good standard and adequately cover the curriculum.
3. The marking schemes should be well developed and the grading of continuous assessment be consistent.
4. The depth and scope of practical conducted must cover the curriculum.
5. The staff mix by rank should be consistent with NUC’s guidelines in all three (3) categories.
6. The university should ensure that all the academic staff benefit from the staff development programme.
7. The university should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from staff development programme.
8. The university should ensure that there is a community/public health lab and provide simulators to enhance teaching.
9. The classrooms should be well-equipped with public address systems and enhanced internet connectivity.
10. Standard academic staff offices should be provided for the programme.
11. More current books and journals should be provided for the programme.
