REMEDIES

1. The curriculum contains less than four innovative courses.

2.interaction with some students revealed that the
curriculum is substantially covered.

3. Interaction between panel members and students of the
programme reveals the students have not acquired the
relevant hard and soft skills expected.

4. 50% of the non-academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development Programme.

5. Available fire extinguishers and sand buckets are inadequate in number.

6. Physical library books and Journals are inadequate in
number and currency.

7. . Funding is inadequate for the programme.

 

1. The university should ensure that the curriculum is
enriched by the addition of at least four innovative courses
without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2.The University should ensure that the curriculum is
adequately covered.

3. The University should ensure that the practical work
conducted is of good quality and covers dept and scope of
the curriculum.

4. The University should ensure that all academic and
non-academic staff benefit from staff Development Programme.

5. he University should ensure that functional fire extinguishers and sand buckets are provided at strategic locations for the programme.

6. More current books and Journals should be procured for the programme.

7. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 92.00%. It scored 34 (91.89%)  in Academic Matters, 34 (97.14%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
