1. The University introduced only three innovative courses
2. Some of the students enrolled in the programme did not meet the admission requirements
3. Final year students projects are not well supervised
4. over 60% of the academic staff have benefitted from the staff development scheme
5. Some of the books and journals are inadequate in currency
6. The number of non-teaching staff that participated in the staff development training is minimal

 

1. The University should introduce at least 4 innovative courses without exceeding the minimum credit load
2. The University should ensure that students enrolled in the programme meet the minimum requirements
3. The University should ensure that students projects are well supervised
4. The University should increase the number of academic staff benefitted from the staff development to 70%
5. The University should provide more current books and journals
6. The University should increase staff development for non-teaching staff

 

The total score for the programme is 89.17%. It scored 27 (84.38%)  in Academic Matters, 32 (91.43%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 16 (88.89%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
