p1. There is no innovative course in the curriculum of the programme.

2. The marking schemes are not well developed as bloc markings are observed.

3. The students’ project lack appropriate modelling and result analysis.

4. All the Non-academic Staff have not benefitted from the Staff Development Programme of the University.

5. The Laboratories are inadequate in space given the numbers of students on the programme.

6. The classrooms are inadequate in space.

7. Physical library Books and Journals are inadequate in number and currency.

 

1. The University should review the curriculum of the programme to include innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2. The university should ensure that marking schemes are well developed to avoid bloc allocation of marks.

3. The University should ensure proper supervision of students’ project.

4. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme of the University.

5. The University should provide spacious laboratory space for the programme.

6. The University should provide spacious classrooms for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 87.60%. It scored 32 (86.49%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 15.5 (86.11%) in Library. The programme scored 3 (100.00%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
