1. There is no Educational Foundation course in the curriculum being taught to the students.

2. Test and Examination questions do not adequately cover the curriculum.

3. There is evidence of bloc allocation of marks and indiscriminate allocation of scores to students.

5. Students are assigned to hospitals for practical work instead of schools for teaching experience.

6. There are no Educational Foundation lecturers on the programme.

7. All the Non-academic staff have not benefitted from the Staff Development Programme of the University.

8. There are no Resource room and Micro-teaching Laboratory for the programme.

9. There are no Educational Foundation books in the physical library for the programme.

10. The inter connection is very slow.

11. The Programme is not adequately funded.

12. There is no evidence of Research and Collaboration in the programme.

 

1. The University should review the curriculum to include all Educational Founation courses.

2. The University should ensure that test and examination questions adequately cover the curriculum.

The University should discourage bloc allocation of marks and indiscriminate allocation of scores to students.

5. The University should stop assigning education students to hospital for practical experience and adopt teaching practice instead.

6. The University should employe Educational Foundation lecturers.

7. The University should ensure that all Staff benefit from the Staff Development Programme of the University.

8. The University should ensure to provide a Resource room and Micro-teaching Laboratory for the programme.

9. The University should procure books in Educational Foundation for the programme.

10. The University should increase the internet bandwidth for easy accessibility of E-library resources.

11. The programme should be adequately funded.

12. The University should ensure there is in-depth Research and Collaboration in the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 75.21%. It scored 23 (69.70%)  in Academic Matters, 31 (88.57%) in Staffing, 16 (59.26%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
