1. There is only two innovative course for the programme

2. Marking scheme are not well developed, the grading of continuous assessment, and examination are not consistent.

3. External examiners system does not exist.

4. Internal quality assurance system exist but not effective.

5. 30% of the academic staff have not benefited from Staff Development programme.

6. 36% of academic staff have no Ph.D degree.

7. Equipment such as homogenizer high performance liquid chromatography.

8. The professorial office is inadequate in space.

9. Holdings for books and journals is inadequate in numbers and coverage.

10. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. The university should ensure that more innovative courses is introduce in line with CCMAS.
2. Marking scheme should be well developed, grading of continuous assessment and examination should be consistent.
3. External examiner should be made available for the programme.
4. The university should ensure effectiveness of their internal quality assurance.
5. The university should ensure that all academic staff benefit from staff development programme.
6. All academic staff should be encourage to have Ph.D degree.
7. The university should ensure that all necessary equipment should be procured for the programme.
8. The university should ensure that professorial office are adequate in space to accommodate mini laboratory for the programme.
9. The university should ensure that holdings for book and journal are adequate in numbers and coverage.
10. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 67.48%. It scored 22 (62.86%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 17 (62.96%) in Physical Facilities, 11 (61.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 1 (50.00%) in Employers’ Rating. the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
