1) No dedicated lecture room for the department.

2) The staff mix by rank is top heavy.

3) There is inadequate number of junior non-teaching staff;

4) None of the non-teaching staff have benefited from the staff development programme in the last three years.
5) There is no dedicated classrooms and no smart boards for the department.
6) The staff offices are ill-equipped in terms of office furniture.
7) Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1) The University should provide a dedicated lecture room for the department;
2) The University should employ more lecturers at the lower level cadre.
3) The University should employ more non-teaching staff at the lower level cadre.
4) The University should ensure that all the non-teaching staff benefited from the staff development programme.
5) The University should provide dedicated classrooms and smart board for the department.
6) The University should ensure that staff offices are well equipped with right furniture befitting each staff such as file cabinets, television, desktop/laptops, freezers, bookshelves, computers, convenience, etc.
7) The University should ensure that funding for the programme is improved.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.49%. It scored 32 (100.00%)  in Academic Matters, 28 (80.00%) in Staffing, 7 (43.75%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme
