1. Time allotted for examinations are too short for the quantum of questions. 2. Students’ degree projects were not well supervised as external examiners observations and recommendations were not implemented in the projects. 3. The programme does not make adequate provision for practical work. The few practicals conducted by students are poorly done, of low quality and not recorded in practical log books. 4. The students demonstrated average level of hard and soft skills relevant to the programme. 5. 37.5% of the academic staff do not have Ph.D. degree 6. 100% of the non-teaching staff have not benefitted from Staff Development Programme in the past three years. 7. The programme does not have a tourism studio, tourism village and demonstration hotel. 8. Academic staff offices are inadequate in number. There is no provision made for visiting professors. 9. Funding is inadequate for the programme. 10. There is no multidisciplinary approach to research and collaborations on the programme.

1. The time allotted for examinations should be increased reasonably commensurate to the quantum of questions. 2. The University should ensure that degree projects are well supervised and external examiners recommendations implemented. 3. The University should ensure that adequate provision is made for practical work and students’ practical work are recorded in the practical log book for the programme. 4. The University should ensure that students are trained and equipped with very good skills relevant to the programme. 5. The University should encourage all academic staff to obtain Ph.D. degree. 6. The University should ensure that all staff benefit from Staff Development Programme. 7. The University should provide standard and well-equipped tourism studio, tourism village and demonstration hotel for the programme. 9. The programme should be adequately funded. 10. The University should ensure that there is multidisciplinary approach to research and collaborations.

The total score for the programme is 72.00%. It scored 25 (67.57%) in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 17 (62.96%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored less than 70% in any of the four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended INTERIM accreditation status for the Programme.
