REMEDIES

1. final year students projects were shallow and poorly supervised
2. None of the administrative staff benefitted from the staff development programme
3. The Hausa version of the software package was not installed in the language laboratory
4. The equipment and furniture are adequate but not well maintained
5. The staff offices are inadequate in space
6. The physical books holdings in the main library are inadequate in currency

 

1. final year students projects should be thorough and well supervised
2. The University should make deliberate efforts to include the non-academic staff in the staff development scheme
3. The University should install the hausa language software package in all the computers in the language laboratory
4. The equipment and furniture should be well kept and maintained
5. The University should provide adequate space office for the professors and the senior lecturers
6. The University should provide more current books and journals in the main library

 

The total score for the programme is 82.50%. It scored 28 (87.50%)  in Academic Matters, 31.5 (90.00%) in Staffing, 19.5 (72.22%) in Physical Facilities, 14 (77.78%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
