1. The curriculum is adequate but skewed towards petroleum geosciences. Courses like COOU-GEY-394 and COOU-GEY-493 is petrel and digital geoscience I and II is not common at undergraduate level. 2. 41% of academic staff do not have PhD. degree programme. 3. 64% of academic staff have not benefited from staff development programme. 4. Professorial offices are slightly inadequate in space. 5. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

1. The curriculum should be revised to merge the two course (COOU-GEY-394 and COOU-GEY 493) taken as one course. 2. The University should ensure that all academic staff have PhD degree programme. 3. The University should ensure that all academics staff benefit from staff development programme. 4. The University should provide more office space for professorial card. 5. The programme should be adequately funded.

The total score for the programme is 88.04%. It scored 35 (94.59%) in Academic Matters, 26 (74.29%) in Staffing, 25.3 (93.70%) in Physical Facilities, 17.5 (97.22%) in Library. The programme scored 1.25 (41.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
