1. The marking scheme was not well developed, and the grading of students’ work and examination scripts was not consistent.

2. 87.5% of the non-teaching staff did not benefit from the staff development scheme.

3. There were no bookshelves, file cabinets, and running water in most offices.

4. The toilet facilities are not well maintained.

5. Funding for the programme was inadequate.

 

1.The university should ensure that the marking scheme is
detailed, clear and concise having assessment criteria and the grading of students’ work and examination scripts should be consistent.

2. The university should ensure that all the non-teaching staff benefit from the staff development scheme.

3. The university should ensure that bookshelves, file cabinets, and running water are provided in staff offices.

4. The university should ensure that the toilet facilities for academic staff is regularly maintained.

5. The university should ensure that funding for the programme is adequate.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.80%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 22 (81.48%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
