1. The proportion of staff core to the subject area provides for only 65% of the teaching staff need. 2. There are no solid concrete platforms in the laboratories for the furnace oven and chemical balances and air conditioners are not installed in the chemical stores. 3. The following equipment are not available for oil and gas analysis: GC-MS, ICP-DES or MS and FTIR 4. Classroom furniture are not well maintained as there are broken chairs and desks.

1. The University should ensure that the proportion of teaching staff core to the subject area provides for 75% or more of the teaching staff need. 2. Solid concrete platforms should be provided in the laboratories; and air conditioners installed in the chemical stores. 3. All essential laboratory equipment should be provided for the programme 4. Furniture in the classrooms should be well maintained.

The total score for the programme is 89.60%. It scored 33 (89.19%) in Academic Matters, 33 (94.29%) in Staffing, 20.5 (75.93%) in Physical Facilities, 18 (100.00%) in Library. The programme scored 2.5 (83.33%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.
