1. Core courses, listed below, were omitted from the curriculum
a) Introductory Mathematics for Economists I
b) Introductory Mathematics for Economists II
c) Mathematics for Economics I
d) Mathematics for Economics II

2. Non-Inclusion of additional /innovative courses in the curriculum.
3. Only 33.33% of teaching staff benefitted from the staff development programme.
4. The programme has no non-teaching staff.
5. The programme has no books in the pyhsical library.
6. The e-Library has access to only one open source library.
7. The programme has no econometrics laboratory.
8. Staff offices are ill equipped.
9. Funding is inadequate

 

1. The university is advised to comply with the CCMAS, and include all core-courses in the curriculum.
2. The university is advised to ensure the inclusion of at least four additional/innovative courses to the curriculum.
3. The university is advised to ensure that all teaching staff benefit from the staff development programme.
4. The university is advised to employ non-teaching staff to provide the needed support for the programme.
5. The university is advised to procure resource materials for the programme.
6. The university is advised to ensure subscription to at least 2 relevant databases in addition to open source materials.
7. The university is advised to establish an econometrics laboratory for the programme.
8. Staff offices should be adequate equipped.
9. Adequate funding should be provided for the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 52.19%. It scored 20.5 (73.21%)  in Academic Matters, 22 (62.86%) in Staffing, 11 (40.74%) in Physical Facilities, 5 (27.78%) in Library. The programme scored 1 (33.33%) in Funding, 0 (0.00%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the total score of less than 60%, the Panel recommended  DENIED accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  DENIED accreditation status for the Programme
