REMEDIES

1. Practicals conducted did not cover the entire curriculum.

2. Staff mix by rank of 23.1:34.6:42.3 is not consistent with the NUC
guideline in two categories.

3. 57% of the non-teaching staff have not benefited from the Staff
Development Programme.

4. 64% of the academic staff have not benefited from the Staff
Development Programme.

5. There is no Preparatory Room in the Laboratory

 

1. Practicals should cover the entire curriculum.

2. The University should ensure a Staff mix by rank of 20:35:45

3. All of the non-teaching staff should benefit from the Staff
Development Programme.

4. The University should encourage all academic staff to benefit from
the Staff Development Programme.

5. There should be Preparatory Room in the Laboratory

 

The total score for the programme is 85.60%. It scored 35 (94.59%)  in Academic Matters, 25 (72%) in Staffing, 23 (85.19%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
