REMEDIES

1. Test and Examination questions do not adequately cover the depth and spread of the curriculum.
2. Students of the programme do not demonstrate good level of skills relevant to the programme.
3. 4 out of 9 academic staff (44.4%) are not core to the subject areas of the programme.
4. 4 out of 9 academic staff (44.4%) of the programme have not benefited from staff development in the past three years.
5. Essential laboratory equipment such as Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), Awaritepe Personality Index (API) and Inadequate Intelligence Tests.
6. Staff offices are inadequate in space.
7. Physical library books and journals are inadequate in number and coverage.
8. The programme is not adequately funded.

 

1. Test and examinations questions should spread across the relevant areas of the curriculum.
2. The university should ensure that students of the programme can demonstrate good level of hard and soft skills relevant to the programme.
3. At least 75% of the academic staff should be core to the subject areas of the programme.
4. All academic staff of the programme should benefit from the staff development programme of the university.
5. The university should provide all essential laboratory equipment in line with BMAS and CCMAS.
6. Standard office accommodation should be provided for all academic staff of the programme.
7. More current books and journals should be procured for the programme.
8. The university should adequately fund the programme.

 

The total score for the programme is 73.68%. It scored 21 (75.00%)  in Academic Matters, 25 (71.43%) in Staffing, 19 (70.37%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
